About Robert Cantrell
Robert Cantrell is a patent agent and innovation consultant. He works mostly with small enterprises but was recently an innovator, project manager, and patent agent at Walmart Inc. Robert is an inventor on 52 issued U.S. patent applications. His inventions are in unmanned ground and aerial systems, distribution center logistics, blockchain, and store-of-the-future.
Before becoming a patent practitioner, Robert was a business development executive and manager of intellectual property research and analysis teams where he provided innovation and patent strategy consulting services. He also managed patent "hunter-killer" teams for corporations seeking to protect themselves from non-practicing entities, and his experience with these teams informs how he works with inventors to avoid pitfalls in patent protection that competitors can exploit. Robert is the author of the book "Outpacing the Competition: Patent-Based Business Strategy", published by John Wiley & Sons.
Robert served as an Airborne Infantry Officer in the 101st Airborne Division.
